NDIS - High intensity support skills

Overview

Stoma Care Training equips healthcare professionals and support workers with the knowledge and skills to provide effective support for individuals with stomas.

The course covers stoma types, management techniques, and patient education, emphasizing infection control, skin care, and emotional support. Adhering to Australian standards, this training empowers workers to enhance patient quality of life and ensure comfortable, dignified care for those living with a stoma.

The high intensity support skills descriptors set out the skills and knowledge that NDIS providers should have access to when delivering complex supports, safely, to NDIS participants.

These complex supports represent some of the highest risks for participants, workers and other, and are areas where NDIS providers must take particular care to source the relevant skills and knowledge to deliver high quality and safe supports.
